Luis Martinez

Luis is the shop manager at SoCal Tattoo & Piercing and an artist with a passion for bold artwork, strong composition, and tattoos that have personality. His work is focused primarily on Japanese Traditional and Black & Grey tattooing, combining classic influences with his own creative approach to each piece.

A longtime fan of anime and sketch style artwork, Luis especially enjoys projects that give him the freedom to take an idea and turn it into something original. From anime inspired tattoos and Japanese imagery to darker black and grey pieces, he works closely with each client to develop artwork that fits both their vision and the placement of the tattoo.

Luis is also one of those artists who genuinely loves taking walk ins. Bring him an idea, a reference, or even the beginning of a concept and he enjoys the challenge of creating something custom on the fly and getting it tattooed that day.

When he's not behind the machine, you'll find Luis helping keep SoCal running as shop manager and making sure clients and artists have a great experience in the shop.
